This Arduino Uno R3 clone board uses the DIP variant: an ATmega328P in a removable 28-pin socket, paired with a genuine ATmega16U2 for USB communication. The socketed microcontroller means the chip can be swapped or reprogrammed on a separate programmer without any soldering, so a damaged or bricked MCU is a five-minute fix rather than a write-off board. Programs from the Arduino IDE by selecting the Arduino Uno board definition.

  • ATmega328P microcontroller (socketed DIP) — 32KB flash, 2KB SRAM, 1KB EEPROM, removable without soldering
  • ATmega16U2 USB chip — genuine HID support, reliable enumeration on Windows 10/11
  • 14 digital I/O pins — 6 with PWM (pins 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11)
  • 6 analogue inputs — A0–A5, 10-bit ADC
  • 16MHz crystal oscillator
  • USB-B programming port — standard cable, no driver needed on Win10/11
  • 5V and 3.3V regulated outputs — 3.3V at up to 50mA

Why a socketed ATmega328P?

The chip sits in a 28-pin DIP socket rather than being soldered to the board. If it's ever damaged by a wiring mistake or over-voltage, it lifts out and a replacement drops straight in, no reflow equipment or rework skill required. It also means the ATmega328P can be programmed on a separate USBasp/AVR programmer and moved into a finished project once flashed.

Is this 100% compatible with official Arduino shields?

Yes. The R3 header layout, including the extra SDA/SCL I2C header and the additional IOREF and reset pins, matches the official Arduino Uno R3 specification. All Arduino-certified shields and libraries work without modification.

Best for

Learning Arduino, breadboard prototyping, shield-based projects, electronics education, robotics, home automation, sensor hubs, LED control, and as a replacement Uno for any existing project, particularly where the microcontroller may need replacing down the line.
