Mega 2560 + WiFi R3 Arduino Compatible Board — ATmega2560 and ESP8266
The Mega 2560 + WiFi R3 combines the ATmega2560 and an ESP8266 ESP-12E WiFi module on a single board, providing the full 54-pin ATmega2560 feature set alongside 2.4GHz WiFi without a separate shield. A set of DIP switches on the board configures the communication path between the two chips, supporting four modes: standalone ATmega2560, standalone ESP8266, serial passthrough (ATmega programs ESP8266 via UART), and co-processor mode (both chips active, communicating over Serial3).
- ATmega2560 — 256KB flash, 54 I/O, 16 analogue inputs, 4 UARTs
- ESP8266 ESP-12E — 2.4GHz WiFi, 4MB flash, runs AT firmware
- DIP switch mode selection — 4 operating modes
- Onboard USB-to-serial (CH340G) — programs both chips from one USB port
- Uno/Mega R3 header layout — standard shield compatibility
