KY-037 High-Sensitivity Sound Sensor Module for Arduino
The KY-037 detects sound levels above a set threshold, outputting a digital LOW on the DO pin when the microphone picks up sounds louder than the potentiometer-set sensitivity. An analogue output (AO) provides the raw microphone voltage for sound level measurement. The LM393 comparator drives the digital output cleanly, and both outputs are available simultaneously — use DO for simple sound-triggered actions and AO for clap detection or volume measurement via ADC.

How do you use the KY-037 for clap detection?
Connect DO to an Arduino interrupt pin and configure it as FALLING trigger. Each clap triggers an interrupt; count interrupts within a short window to distinguish single claps from double claps. Adjust the potentiometer clockwise to increase sensitivity (detects quieter sounds), counter-clockwise to reduce it (requires louder input).
