4-Port USB HAT for Raspberry Pi with UART Converter
This HAT adds four USB 2.0 ports to a Raspberry Pi Zero, Zero W, Zero 2W, Pi 2, Pi 3, or Pi 4 via a single GPIO header connection. The onboard CH340 USB-to-UART bridge exposes the Pi's serial console over USB simultaneously, giving you both hub expansion and a debug serial port from one compact add-on board. No separate power supply is needed on Pi 3 and Pi 4 — the HAT draws from the Pi's 5V GPIO rail.
- 4x USB 2.0 ports — 480Mbps maximum per port
- CH340 UART bridge — exposes Pi serial console over USB
- GPIO HAT connection — no USB cable needed between Pi and HAT
- Compatible with Pi Zero, 2, 3, 4 — standard 40-pin GPIO footprint
- Compact form factor — same size as Pi Zero board
| Specification | Value |

| Compatible boards | Pi Zero/W/2W, Pi 2/3/4 |
| Power | Via GPIO 5V rail |
Does the USB HAT work with Raspberry Pi Zero?
Yes. The Pi Zero has a single micro USB OTG port that cannot simultaneously act as host and device. This HAT connects over GPIO instead, freeing the micro USB port for power while adding full USB host capability. On Pi Zero W and Zero 2W, solder the GPIO header before fitting the HAT.
How do you access the serial console over the CH340 UART?
Connect the HAT's USB port to a computer, and the CH340 appears as a COM port (Windows) or /dev/ttyUSB0 (Linux/macOS). Open PuTTY or screen at 115200 baud to access the Pi's serial console — useful for headless setup and debugging without a monitor.
Best for
Raspberry Pi Zero USB hub expansion, headless Pi serial console access, Pi 4 USB device multiplication, robotics builds needing multiple USB peripherals, retro gaming setups, and university electronics lab stations.
