2.4 Inch TFT LCD Display Module 240×320 ST7789V with Micro SD Slot

This 2.4 inch TFT LCD module delivers a 240×320 pixel colour display driven by the ST7789V controller over SPI, with a built-in micro SD card socket on the back for storing images or data files from the same microcontroller. The a-Si TFT panel displays 262,144 colours at a 6 o’clock viewing angle — clear when viewed straight on, with the colour shifting on extreme angles. The white LED backlight runs from 3.3V logic, making it compatible with ESP32, ESP8266, STM32, and Arduino Uno with a level shifter on SPI lines.

  • 2.4 inch a-Si TFT panel — 240×320 pixels, 262K colour depth
  • ST7789V driver IC — SPI interface, 4-wire connection
  • Micro SD card socket — shares SPI bus with display, separate CS line
  • 3.3V logic compatible — ESP32 and ESP8266 connect directly
  • PCB adapter included — pin labels for easy wiring

Which library works with the ST7789V on Arduino and ESP32?

The Adafruit ST7735 and ST7789 library covers this display on Arduino and ESP32. Bodmer’s TFT_eSPI library is the faster option for ESP32 and ESP8266 — it uses DMA transfers and supports 40MHz SPI, giving smooth animation on the 240×320 panel. Both libraries are in the Arduino Library Manager.

Does the 5V Arduino Uno need a level shifter for this display?

Yes. The ST7789V operates on 3.3V logic. Connecting 5V SPI signals directly risks damaging the driver IC. A 4-channel bidirectional level shifter on MOSI, SCK, CS, and DC lines keeps the signals within spec. The SD card also requires 3.3V logic on its data lines.

Best for

ESP32 sensor dashboards, Arduino data displays, handheld game consoles, weather station screens, retro UI projects, image slideshow frames, GPS map displays, and any build needing a colour screen larger than a 0.96 inch OLED.
