C245 Soldering Irons
C245 is a cartridge tip standard: the heating element sits inside the tip itself rather than in the handle, so heat-up and recovery are far faster than a traditional 900M-style iron. It is the larger of the two cartridges used on stations such as the YIHUA 982, built to carry more heat for general and heavier electronics work. Everything here is genuine YIHUA, UK stock, with a 12-month guarantee.

What C245 is for
C245 is the general-purpose cartridge in the YIHUA 982’s twin-cartridge system, larger than C210 and better suited to everyday through-hole soldering, bigger joints, and jobs that need more sustained heat. Its counterpart, C210, is the slim cartridge reserved for fine micro-soldering. If most of your work is general electronics rather than tight-pitch SMD, C245 is the one to reach for.
What’s in this category
- C245 Cartridges Precision Soldering Tips (from £5.90), for general and heavier cartridge work on any C245-compatible handle.
- The YIHUA 982-V (£36.90), a JBC-compatible station built specifically around C245 tips.
- The YIHUA 982 dual-handle station (£68), which accepts both C245 and C210 cartridges on separate handles, so you can switch between general and fine work without changing tips mid-job.
C245 or C210?
C245 carries more heat and covers general electronics and slightly heavier joints. C210 favours precision over raw heat transfer, so it suits micro-SMD and delicate rework instead. Not sure which you need? See C210 vs C245 vs 900M tips, or browse the C210 Soldering Irons range alongside this one.
C245 Soldering Irons FAQ
What is a C245 tip used for?
General electronics soldering and slightly heavier joints, where its larger cartridge carries more heat than the fine C210 standard.
What’s the difference between the YIHUA 982-V and the YIHUA 982?
The 982-V is a JBC-compatible station built specifically around C245 tips. The standard YIHUA 982 has two handles and accepts both C245 and C210, so you can switch between the two standards.
Can I use a C245 tip on a 900M-style iron?
No. C245 is a cartridge standard with the heater built into the tip, a different fitment to 900M-T tips, which slip onto an iron whose heater is in the handle. See our full Soldering Iron Tips range for both standards.
Are these genuine YIHUA tips?
Yes, genuine YIHUA stock held in the UK, with a 12-month guarantee.
