GY-471 MAX471 Current Sensor Module — 3A Bidirectional High-Side
The MAX471 current sensor module measures bidirectional current flow on the high side of a load (between supply and load, not between load and ground), outputting a voltage proportional to current at 0.37V/A. Measuring on the high side preserves a common ground reference between the MCU and the load, avoiding the ground shift problems of low-side sensing. The 3A maximum rating covers small motors, LED arrays, and battery charger monitoring at 5V–36V supply voltage.
- High-side current sensing — no ground reference shift
- Bidirectional — measures current in both directions (charge and discharge)
- 3A maximum rating
- 0.37V/A output sensitivity
- 5V–36V power rail sensing range
- Analogue output — reads on any Arduino ADC pin
