Through-hole and SMD practice
Most beginners start with through-hole, push the leg through the hole, heat the pad and leg together, feed solder, done. The practice kit also includes surface-mount (SMD) pads so you can try the smaller, more modern parts at your own pace. Build through-hole confidence first, then move to SMD.
